The Board of Navy Canteens, appointed by the Chief of the Navy, is chartered with the responsibility of supporting Navy people by the provision of grants and services through its not-for-profit business "Navy Canteens". Navy Canteens employs approximately 150 staff throughout Australia in a diverse business, which includes canteens, holiday parks and other revenue streams. It now has a rare opportunity to appoint a new CEO who will lead the business through its next stage of growth by innovative strategic thinking and empowering leadership.

Based in Canberra, the new CEO will lead a national team dedicated to excellence, innovation and professionalism, with an emphasis on achieving the common goal of outstanding delivery and accountability to the strategic objectives set by the Board. Responsibilities include:

-  Providing high level collegiate leadership to Navy Canteens;
-  Advising and supporting the Board's strategic direction;
-  Ensuring the financial viability of Navy Canteens through innovative   approaches and recommendations for Board consideration;
-  Encouraging and motivating the broader team to deliver outstanding outcomes.

The Board is looking for an exceptional and experienced person - a focused strategic leader with an entrepreneurial flair, who can communicate and negotiate at all levels, who has a significant track record in successfully leading an organisation. Personal attributes required include high energy levels, self-motivation, initiative, tact and diplomacy and the ability to achieve outstanding results in a dynamic, diverse not-for-profit, professional business environment. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in managing governance matters at Board level, along with skills in executing strategic direction, are essential.

The successful candidate's diverse management skills and experience will be rewarded with a senior executive remuneration package, reviewed regularly on performance, and the opportunity to lead and grow this high profile national not-for-profit business, which provides financial support through distributions and services to Australia's Navy people.
