General Manager - ACT


Diabetes NSW & ACT, who are Australia's largest member-based charity for people living with or at risk or diabetes, and whose charter it is to support people living with diabetes, has an opportunity to appoint a new ACT General Manager.

The General Manager will manage a team dedicated to excellence, innovation and professionalism, with a particular emphasis on achieving the common goal of outstanding delivery of objectives.

A high level of competence in grant delivery and relationship management, specifically within the ACT State and Federal Government health areas, will be key expectations of the General Manager.

The General Manager is responsible for:

  • providing high level, collegiate leadership to the organisation;
  • building effective relationships and links with government officials, constituents and stakeholders;
  • driving awareness of the organisation services through engagement with local community bodies;
  • managing the ACT office and its staff, with a strong focus on reporting, grant management, acquittals and governance;
  • developing strategic fundraising partnerships.

The successful candidate will have experience at a senior executive level and a track record in relationship management and development, preferably within the ACT & Federal Government and / or the Capital Health Network. As well as a strong understanding of government processes, business acumen, high level negotiation skills and a genuine empathy for people living with Diabetes.

An attractive remuneration package of 130k-150k, pro rated to 0.8 FTE (4 days per week) will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
