The opportunity

As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovation that directly benefit Australia's grain industry. The GRDC's purpose is to invest in research, development and extension (RD&E) to create enduring profitability for Australian grain growers.

Kowalski Recruitment (KR) is looking for an outstanding Governance Officer to support the Head of Governance and Reporting.  This role has responsibility for the day-to-day operation of GRDC’s governance framework which addresses areas such as risk, procurement, fraud, privacy, complaints, internal audit, planning and reporting.


  • Supporting the Head of Governance and Reporting with the coordination and development of GRDC’s governance framework;
  • Developing procedures and processes in accordance with legislation and policy approved by GRDC’s Board;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems relating to governance and assurance;
  • Developing the assurance capability, audits and reporting within the organisation;
  • Liaising with stakeholders and suppliers to establish and maintain productive business relationships.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience in a governance coordination or similar role;
  • High level verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.

You will need to be an Australian citizen and be prepared to travel interstate occasionally.
