Manager, Barley and Coarse Grains

3 year renewable contract

Remuneration range $113k - 138k plus super, according to experience

Located in prestigious offices in Barton in the ACT

The opportunity

Our client, an organisation known for its team culture that encourages and inspires excellence, is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated manager, with excellent leadership capabilities, experienced in financial management/procurement and contract management, technically savvy, motivated by managing issues effectively and capturing ideas, whilst building a strong and effective team.


You will be responsible for delivering strategies and primary activities at each phase of contract management by:

• Supporting the Executive team in identifying national and regional strategic R & D requirements in genetic technologies
• Actively leading, coaching, monitoring and developing others
• Proactively collaborating and facilitating common objectives
• Levering stakeholders to provide expert technical advice
• Actively participating in IP management

What we’re looking for?

• Formal qualifications in quantitative genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and food technology/processing
• Demonstrated minimum of 5 years sound knowledge in knowledge of crop improvement, with industry experience in a related R&D field
• Demonstrated experience in project negotiation
• Demonstrated ability to develop sound business cases
• Proven understanding of commercial principals, including finance, brand management, IP management licensing and agreement development
• Ability to synthesise information effectively
• Proven experience in coaching, mentoring and developing teams.

You will need to be an Australian citizen and prepared to travel interstate as and when required.
