EL1 Assistant Manager - Governance & Risk - Adelaide CBD

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Produce evidence based policy advice, discussion papers, legislation, Ministerial briefings and correspondence.
  • Think strategically and apply ‘big picture thinking’ to governance, corporate and parliamentary matters
  • Lead the coordination and management of agency risk including mitigation strategies.
  • Work across the agency, including with technical, policy and engagement teams to:
    • develop concise and clear advice to the senior executive,
    • draft related Ministerial briefs for the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, and
    • Lead a positive work culture that is collegiate and inclusive.

The successful applicant will:

  • Possess outstanding critical thinking skills and the ability to analyse information, assess risk and anticipate strategic and operational challenges.
  • have strong communication skills, including communicating sensitively and collaborating effectively with stakeholders including ARWA staff, departmental executive and representatives of other departments
  • have strong written skills and ability to deliver high quality work including policy position papers, Ministerial briefings and other products as required
  • be experienced leading sensitive activities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • be resilient, self-driven and comfortable working fluidly to accommodate competing priorities, and time critical processes.
